1 THE CONTRACT will be between Laundry Cottage Owners (referred to as us or we) and the person making the booking (referred to as you or your) and all members of the holiday party. The contract of hire will not be effective until we have received the deposit. The party leader must be at least 18 at the time of booking. All names and ages of members in your holiday party must be listed on the booking form.
When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email to the email address you provide in the booking form. This does not form a contract between us. A contract shall only arise when your booking is subsequently confirmed by email. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions and must be complied with.
A 25% deposit of the holiday cost will be required at the time of booking. The booking will then be confirmed. The balance will be due 8 weeks prior to the commencement date. If a booking is made within 8 weeks then full payment will be due. Once you have confirmed the booking you are responsible for the full cost of hire even if you subsequently cancel.
If you have to cancel your holiday for whatever reason please notify us as soon as possible and we will endeavour to re-let the accommodation. We want to be fair but we need to cover our costs so have the following policy;
If you cancel your booking within eight weeks of the holiday arrival date you will remain liable for the full cost of the hire of the property for the holiday period. However, if we are able to re-let the property we will refund the full cost, less an administration fee of £30 and any difference between the rental value in your contract and the rental value from re-letting the cottage for the dates you had booked. This will only be refunded after the date of the holiday was due. This may mean you get back less than you paid.
If you cancel your booking more than 8 weeks before the arrival date, the Deposit will not be refundable, but the balance of the cost of the hire will be refunded if already paid. If we are able to fully re-let the property for the dates you have booked we will, at our discretion, refund your deposit less an administration fee of £30 or we may agree to offer you alternate dates.
We strongly recommend that you take out your own suitable travel cancellation insurance to cover you and your party in the event of falling ill, or for any other reason, that means you may have to cancel your holiday with us.
If you choose not to take out travel insurance, then you accept responsibility for any loss should you have to cancel.
4. CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE OWNER
If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood or destruction/damage to the property then we will offer you alternative dates or we will refund the amount you paid. If we have to terminate your holiday for the above reasons you will be refunded/credited part of the booking fee value based on the time remaining of the booking. No additional compensation or expenses will be payable.
5 PERIOD OF HIRE
Arrival time on the commencement date is 3pm, and leave by 10am on the day of departure. Failure to do so, unless agreed, will result in a further day’s rental.
The accommodation must not be sub-let and must be used for short holiday rental only. No more than 4 people (plus one baby) are allowed to occupy the property overnight.
WIFI: Wi-Fi is provided for the guest’s reasonable use. The guest agrees to reasonable and lawful usage of this service.
Energy use: Gas and electricity are included in the price, subject to reasonable usage. Lights, appliances and heating are to be turned off when out.
RIGHT OF ENTRY: We shall be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.
Laundry Cottage, it’s employees and representatives shall not be liable for any injury, sickness, loss or damage to the property or your personal property, directly or indirectly caused by or arising from the use of the properties or access. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard yourselves and your property.
7 CARE OF THE PROPERTY
You are responsible for the property whilst on holiday and are expected to take all reasonable care of its furniture fitting and effects. You must leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of rental period as at the beginning. The property must not be used for any dangerous, offensive noxious, noisy, immoral activities or be of any nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties. No parties are allowed.
Do not leave candles unattended. Turn off all electrical appliances before going to bed and close all external doors.
8 DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES
We do not request a damage deposit because things rarely get broken. You are however legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand. If you find something damaged or broken on your arrival please report it to us straight away, otherwise we will assume you have caused the problem.
Every effort is made to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. However, if you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We value your custom and want you to return.
We do not allow Pets at Laundry Cottage as we use it ourselves and have family with allergies.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside Laundry Cottage. You are welcome to smoke in the garden providing you dispose of your cigarette butts afterwards.
Data Privacy Statement: We treat any data collected during the course of making bookings or dealing with enquiries in strict confidence. Your data will never be sold or passed to any third parties. We may contact you with an annual email to promote any future offers. If at any time you would like your details removed from this list all you need do is email us and we will arrange for you to be removed from the mailing list.
