You will certainly never get bored in North Devon!
Things to do locally
Walk into Ilfracombe to find a good range of local shops, bars and restaurants and the famous tunnels beach where you can swim, or you may be attending a wedding there. The pretty working harbour has various boat trips to see wildlife, go out fishing or even take a day trip to Lundy Island. There is an Aquarium and of course Damian Hirst's controversial statue of Verity. Or try the fascinating and eclectic museum, play crazy golf, go to the cinema or theatre or try the gym and salt water swimming pool at the Leisure Centre. Plus various other attractions that you can find out about either in the cottage or at the tourist office.
Beaches and activities
You are spoilt for choice with beaches. The biggest and the best beach is Woolacombe - over two miles long - and winner of numerous awards. Puttsborough, Croyde, Saunton Sands and Hele Bay are also all nearby. Lea Bay is very close and great for exploring the rockpools at low tide.
Try one of the many outdoor adventure sports; surfing, coasteering, paddleboarding, quad biking, horseriding, golf, bike hire, fishing.
There are various wildlife and adventure parks in the area for families too.
For walkers, the South West coastal path is about a 15 minute walk from the cottage, and the Tarka Trail along the old railway line is about 5 mins walk. There are lots of other walks and bike rides and the cottage has various books maps to help plan your trip.
